My boy is now a man.....
....or at least he thinks he is-he got to use the weed-eater for the first time today-then, in the tradition of his father before him, he got his first yellow-jacket sting. Go figure

New layouts from the weekend
These were for challenges/sketches at the Kits & Pieces
forum for their "Make room for MORE" Crop coming up this weekend.
This first one is a Journal-A-Lot challenge-where 1/2 of your layout is supposed to be journaling-Graphic 45 PP
This next one is for a Background challenge-I painted craft cardstock with gold & pewter metallic paints-then I took the metal theme and ran with it. I raided Danny's garage for various metal elements-and then took some Tim Holtz alcohol inks and and colors all the metal - the journaling says "Tough as Nails"
and this last one was an adaptation of a sketch by Julie Fen-fai Balzer - it really changed from her original-and is way more colorful than I usually do, but Carlee was helping pick out the stuff for it

Karate belt test yesterday.
And once again they did great-I love the respect and discipline the class is teaching them. You wouldn't think a Mom would love to see her kids fighting!!

My first real mini album!!
I broke my bind-it-all out today-and this was SO SIMPLE to do!! It only took 4 pages of Teresa Collins' FABULOUS Journal-it papers, two Zutter 8x8 chipboard covers, one pkg zutter cardstock pages in black-and a few narratives stickers, some heidi swapp chipboard alphas-and it was done!! I'm so prou of myself for finishing an idea instead of leaving it half done!! WOOHOO!!!

My Papa
My grandfather, Orville Lee. I miss him so much, he's been gone for almost 8 years now, but it only seems like days sometimes. He was the most influential man in my young life. Growing up without my Dad or other grandfather-I spent a lot of time with him. The way his hat is cocked to one side was how he was, and he wore his caps that way his whole life. A good man, with just a hint of an edge underneath the surface.
And since I was the only grandchild for 16 years, I got a lot of attention LOL. He taught me to fish, hunt, build, use power tools, all the useful stuff :) I miss you a lot Papa.
